The film crew often came to Scotland to shoot beautiful landscapes for the Harry Potter films as well as more wild and eerie locations. The dramatic Scottish scenery often provides a great backdrop for Hogwarts and the time the students spend at and around the school. Lots of scenes involving lakes were also filmed in Scotland with several Scottish lochs appearing across the eight movies. Some of the most iconic are the Hogwarts Express train scenes and the location of Hagrid’s hut. As any fan of the Harry Potter films will know, Hogwarts is located in Scotland and thus it is not surprising that a number of exterior scenes for the movies were shot in Scotland. However, they're not currently on Netflix or Disney+.Scotland is a magical destination for several reasons, one being that you can find many Harry Potter filming locations in Scotland. We've scoured the internet for you to bring you all the places to watch the Harry Potter movies – and the Fantastic Beasts ones too – whatever your streaming preferences. (Though it certainly is less daunting than watching all of the Marvel films, or even all the Star Wars movies.) With a variety of movies to get through, and a plethora of streaming services from which to choose, finding them can sometimes feel like an overwhelming task.

If that got your Harry Potter fanaticism going again, there's still plenty of time to rewatch the entire series in preparation for Fantastic Beasts 3. In the interim, there was the exciting reunion of the original cast, including Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), (similar to the Friends reunion) in Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwartson HBO Max and likely Sky and NOW in the UK which came out on January 1, 2022. It seems like we're waiting forever for the next instalment in the Harry Potterfranchise – by which we mean the upcoming Fantastic Beasts 3film, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which is out on April 15, 2022.
